About the Author
I grew up in Wisconsin and was drawn to horror at an early age. I would read R.L. Stein’s Goosebumps before bed, and later, Stephen King and Dean Koontz, among other authors. They inspired me to want to create works that would draw people in and make them feel something. Most people ask, “Why horror?” I say fear is a thought provoking emotion, and the more we understand it, the more we can understand ourselves.
Not only that. Sometimes being a little creeped out is just fun!
I’m ba-ack! After a break, I’m bringing forth new, more disturbing short stories to share with anyone brave enough. Those of you who read my older works written under “Kira R-Crumb” may remember the emphasis on the supernatural. While many of the new stories also feature monsters and magic, the majority focus on real world evils. Monsters are scary, but sometimes humans are the best monsters. Proceed with caution. You never know what’s going to hit closest to home.
Great news! Okay, two things. One: If you’re enjoying these stories, you can now listen and read along on Youtube. I’m making short videos with handcrafted subtitles that you can access here on the website or on Youtube directly.
As of today, you can read along with “White Powder” and “Monster.” “White Powder” is one of my older works (maybe written in 2009 or 2011 … sometime in high school, basically). “Monster” was written in 2019 and marks the start of my psychological, human-centric fiction. Both are 3 to 5 minutes long and are great if you need a quick dose of horror right before bed. Hopefully you don’t plan to sleep afterwards.
Two: I have an email address. You can contact me at kiracarnicelli@gmail.com with your feedback, comments, and questions. I’d love to hear your thoughts and hope to hear from you!
More news and stories to follow. Stay tuned.
